It’s a new year, you probably set yourself to be healthier and more fit as your new year resolution. But during the holiday you over indulge yourself and it’s hard to get the ball rolling on living healthy. Or you maybe living a healthy and active life but for a couple of weeks during the holiday you got lost and it’s hard to bounce back. But don’t worry, whatever your goals are we’ve come up with 5 quick fix you can do today to help you get back on track.
Drink a lot of water
Not-so-healthy foods usually contain high amount of salt. Excessive amount of salt (or sodium) cause bloating. To flush out those excessive salt and to de-bloat your body, drink LOTS of water. Drink at least 2 litres one day.
Eat in smaller portions
The worst thing you can do is to starve yourself. Never, ever, ever, skip a meal. It’s counterproductive for what you are trying to do. Skipping meals is unhealthy and it can slow down your metabolism. Instead, eat in slightly smaller portions.
Start your day by eating right
Kickstart your metabolism by eating breakfast one hour after you wake up. Eat greek yogurt and drink green tea for your breakfast. Drinking green tea is known for boosting your metabolism and increases fat burning. Greek yogurt also boost your metabolism. Moreover, greek yogurt contains iodine. Iodine helps the thyroid function of the body (protein for immune building). It also contain probiotics to help keep your intestines healthy. Top it off with blueberries to lower your cholesterol level.
Detox with banana
Banana can help us to de-bloat from the effects of alcohol and moderates blood sugar levels. Banana is low-calore, packed with potassium and high in fibre. As a bonus, it can help you with weight loss!
Switching to more greeny veggies (or salad) for your dinner or lunch will help boost your metabolism. Also, natural leafy green is super healthy for our body. Think about kale, romaine, spinach, and arugula. Add slices of avocado, egg, and a bunch of beans for protein.
