The Only Taco Salad Recipe You'll Ever Need

It’s #TacoTuesday so, naturally, we’re craving tacos! But, for today’s recipe, we’re skipping the shell and tossing it all into a bowl. To get that authentic taco taste, you don’t always need to put it in a tortilla or a shell, you can just toss it in a bowl and call it a day. It’s simple, fast, and so good.

All you need for this flavourful taco salad is a base, a protein, a selection of veggies to add some volume and a yummy healthy dressing to drizzle on top!

Healthy Taco Salad

quick + Easy recipe - 10 min prep!

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 CUP OF GROUND TURKEY

1 tsp of olive oil/avocado oil

1/2 CUP OF RED ONION

1/2 CUP OF DICED RED PEPPER

1/2 OF AN AVOCADO

1/2 CUP OF BLACK BEANS

handful of DICED GREEN ONION

ROMAINE, SPINACH, ARUGULA, or SPRING MIX

dressing:

1/4 cup of salsa

1/4 cup of plain greek yogurt

turkey seasoning (mix together):

1 tbs chili powder

1 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp of garlic powder

3/4 tsp of kosher salt

1/2 tsp of black pepper

optional:

tsp of chilli flakes

INSTRUCTIONS:

heat saucepan up with 1 tsp of olive or avocado oil. Brown the ground turkey in the pan. Mix in your taco seasoning until well combined.

in a small bowl, mix together salsa and greek yogurt together to make the dressing.

as the turkey is cooking, toss your lettuce of choice in a big salad bowl and top with all your veggies. once the turkey is cooked, put it on top of the salad and drizzle with healthy salsa dressing.
